The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for oversight, management, and accomplishment of the core of the institution's mission: As stated in UNCA's Mission Statement- ..."to offer an undergraduate liberal arts education of superior quality for serious and able students."  Not only is the institutional mission the primary charge of Academic Affairs but so too are the institution's "guiding concepts" which amplify the mission and bring focus to the efforts of key administrative offices.  Academic Affairs is the gyroscope of the university and as such assumes the accomplishment of the institution's mission and the guiding concepts as the foundation of the office's mission.
