UNC CAUSE Conference

For over 30 years, decision makers and computing professionals from the entire University of North Carolina system have held annual statewide conferences.  For the directors, managers, support staff and users of IT in the University’s sixteen-campus system, the UNC CAUSE conferences have become a popular tradition and an important on-going education program.  Typically the UNC CAUSE conference attracts around 350 attendees.

 

This year, conferees will meet in Asheville, North Carolina on December 3 – 5 to explore the conference theme: “Sharing Our Knowledge of IT Excellence

 

This conference offers several opportunities for corporate participation and support.  If you have additional ideas for corporate participation, please contact Lisa Hardin Smith at 336-770-3314 (email: smithl@ncarts.edu) to discuss the possibilities.  Attached is a corporate call for participation form.  Please complete and return to Lisa Hardin Smith at the address indicated on the form.

 

Corporate Demonstration Areas:  The demonstration areas are an interactive forum where you can meet conferees and demonstrate and discuss your company’s products or services. Corporate demonstration areas will be open from 12:00pm-5:00pm on Monday and from 8:00am-4:00pm on Tuesday.  Setup can begin on Monday morning and teardown will be on Tuesday evening.  Door prizes will be awarded during Wednesday morning’s breakfast.

 

Corporate Sponsorship:  Companies may sponsor any of the several social activities held during the conference.  Sponsorship also provides you with the opportunity on Monday afternoon to present Product Briefings or Product Strategies/Overview presentations.  There are 10 sessions available and these will be offered to those who commit early.  If more than 10 sessions are requested by those who commit early, selections will be based on the appropriateness of the topic and level of vendor participation.  UPDATE – All vendor sponsorships are taken.NOTE – All vendor participants must register online.  Ignore the $75 charge that will show upon the completion of your registration.

 

Publicity for Corporations:  Corporate participation and sponsorships will be highlighted in pre-conference promotional materials, the conference program and on the UNC CAUSE Conference 2007 web site.  The web address is http://www.unca.edu/cause07.

Door Prizes

 

As an attendance incentive, we encourage you to bring door prizes or giveaways.  In order to maximize your presence, we would like to announce all door prizes at the Wednesday morning breakfast.  Please coordinate with Lisa Smith to arrange.

 

Accommodations

 

The conference is being held at the Asheville Renaissance Hotel in scenic Asheville, North Carolina.  A block of rooms are reserved for the conference, but you are encouraged to make your reservations early, well prior to the November 2nd cut off date.   For phone numbers, etc, please refer to http://www.unca.edu/cause07/location/index.html.

 

UPDATE
The Renaissance hotel is now full, but we have a block of rooms at the
Sheraton Four Points, just next door. Call the hotel at 828-253-1851 and
mention the group name of UNC CAUSE to reserve a room. Currently, they can't handle reservations via the web. You need to book by November 2 and the rate is $105.00 per night.
