Parents
Fund
What is the UNC Asheville Parents Fund? The Parents Fund raises annual gifts from parents of current students and
parents of graduates that help the university enhance opportunities and services
provided to students. Contributions to the Parents Fund are important because
they help cover the difference between tuition and student fees and what it
actually costs to educate each student.
What does the Parents Fund
support? The Parents Fund supports a variety of programs and
services that directly impact students. Some recent examples include:

-
World of Work trips
for students through the Career Center
-
Parent and Student Survival Guides distributed by the Health & Counseling
Center
-
Vault Career Software for
The Career Center
-
Training for the student staff of the University Writing Center
-
Undergraduate Research
grants to students for equipment and travel expenses
-
Parent and Student Survival Guides distributed by the Student Health &
Counseling Center
-
Family Weekend
Who
decides how to spend the money?
Each year, campus departments and organizations apply for funding through the
Parents Fund. The National Parents Council reviews the applications and makes
recommendations for the use of Parents Fund gifts, helping to ensure the best
use of gifts. |
