Office of Sponsored Scholarship and Programs

The Office of Sponsored Scholarship and Programs (OSSP) administers externally funded proposals and contracts for sponsored research, instruction, and extension projects at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. OSSP was formally established in 2003 as an administrative department under Academic Affairs.

The Office of Sponsored Scholarship and Programs is staffed by professionals knowledgeable about funding opportunities in a wide range of academic fields and experienced in dealing with public and private not-for-profit sponsors. The office can help you identify appropriate potential sponsors, interpret guidelines, develop proposals and budgets, and fulfill application requirements. We also facilitate institutional approvals before proposal submission, negotiate awards with the sponsor, and guide investigators in project administration.
